Well that was an enjoyable discussion ladies and gents, but I must be off. I have some mustache twirling and money-bag counting to attend to.

Destiny / Guide to Light Levels
« Last post by SSG CodeMonkey on 16 Oct 2014, 11:16 AM »
Found this on reddit - http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2i7apt/guide_max_light_level_raid_gear/

Light Level     Required +Light
Level 21   21 Light
Level 22   32 Light
Level 23   43 Light
Level 24   54 Light
Level 25   65 Light
Level 26   76 Light
Level 27   87 Light
Level 28   98 Light
Level 29   109 Light
Level 30   120 Light

What is Light? How can I get more of it?
At Level 20 you will require Light from armor to reach higher levels. Light is on most higher level pieces of Armor (18+) but you'll want the Level 20 armor for the best results. Upgrading the armor will increase the Light stat on the it, often by 1 for Rare armor, 2 for Legendary, and up to 4 for Raid and Exotic armor. Rare Level 20 armor will cap at 15 Light a piece. This means with full Rare armor you will only achieve Level 24 (60 Light) and thus need something else to level higher. That's where Legendary armor comes into play. It can cap at 27 Light, allowing you to level up to 28 (108 Light) and with a little assistance from Exotic or Raid Gear (which both cap at 30 Light) you can reach Level 29 (109 or higher). To achieve the current maximum level you need 120 Light. This requires a combination of 1 Exotic and 3 Raid armor or simply all four pieces of Raid armor, fully upgraded. Raid Gloves, Chest, and Boots can be obtained from Vault of Glass - Normal Mode -- the helm is obtained from Hard Mode.

Note - All Legendary armor starts at 18 Light, even Raid armor. Exotic armor starts at 21 Light. The cost of Ascendant Shards for Raid armor and Exotic Armor upgrades towards the end cost more than normal Legendary armor (8 instead of 6).

Raid Gear
You can obtain all sorts of items from the Vault of Glass, to include Ascendant Energy, Ascendant Shards, Legendary/Exotic Weapons, and Raid Gear. Below you'll find the items you can receive in addition to each set for each class. Items can be received from:
  • The 1st Chest after unlocking the Vault.
  • After clearing Phase 2 of the Templar fight (Oracles).
  • After defeating the Templar
  • From the left chest in the Gorgons' Labyrinth
  • From the right chest in the Gorgons' Labyrinth
  • After defeating the Gatekeepers
  • After defeating Atheon
Additionally, there is a chest in a hole to the left of the Templar which provides Spirit Bloom. There is also a "5th Chest" in the secret pathway from this chest.
Note - Completing the Vault of Glass on Hard Mode before Normal Mode will reap "double rewards" much like completing the Weekly Heroic at Level 28 includes the rewards for Level 22/26. Doing this will result in no rewards when doing the same checkpoints in Normal Mode, ie; if you've cleared up to the Gatekeeper in Hard Mode but defeat Atheon in Normal Mode you'll receive the loot from Atheon still.

Camelot Erudition (Info) / Re: Rules & Guidelines
« Last post by SSG Cazaril on 13 Jun 2013, 12:39 PM »
Knights, Apprentices & Community Friends, lend me your ears! There are many places on the Internet to discuss religion, politics, sexual orientation, the morality of whaling, 2nd Amendment rights, government oversight, et cetera. Camelot is not that place. We come here to talk about games, gaming, geekery, & to share stories with friends. Camelot is our home and we should all feel comfortable in our own homes. To wit, be excellent to each other. Treat one another kindly. More importantly, treat the forum as a whole kindly. If you wish to have a rigorous debate (on subjects political or enumerated lists of reasons why your choice of console is obviously superior), the private message system is in place for your use. As are a plethora of other forums across the web. This forum is reserved for the lighter side of things. When in Camelot, be Knightly.

While we don't wish to curtail opinions or censor friendly debate, when discussions become heated, they will be moderated. When moderation is necessary, an Overlord or Templar will step into the conversation. Deleting posts and/or locking threads is always a last resort. First you will see gentle reminders from Camelot staff to "Keep it Clean" & the offending parties may receive PMs from staff reminding them to keep things non-antagonistic on the forums. Threads will only be locked if attempts at moderation are being ignored. Likewise, locking threads and/or deleting posts will not be up to the discretion of a single moderator.

Current staff (Overlords & Templars) will be the moderators:
SSG Jayman - Overlord
SSG Jettstream - Overlord
SSG HE4THEN - Overlord
SSG Cazaril - Overlord
SSG IrishGirl - Chancellor
Aelius - Community Templar
SSG iAmGrant - Architect Templar
Siaberwocki - Recruitment Templar

Finally, we're all adults here & we are all capable of keeping things civil. We ask that you help keep Camelot a welcome respite from conflict & spare us from having to enforce these rules through active moderation.

Camelot Erudition (Info) / Policy: Knight Emeritus - Inactivity - Banning
« Last post by jayman on 05 Dec 2012, 05:25 PM »
Emeritus Status (Updated 07-06-16)

- We understand real life comes first and things beyond anyone's control do happen, so SSG will do all we can to support you until you are able to play with us. We would like to think we are your online family, so keep in contact with us on the forums, Facebook, Slack, etc., and keep us in the loop with how things are going.

- Should a Knight drop out of communication, the following steps will be taken:
  • Every six months the Membership Council will meet and start the process of communication with the Knight(s) that have not logged in the the forums in the past six months.
  • The MC will check the other social spaces for activity: XBL, PSN, Steam, Slack, Facebook group, etc. If the Knight(s) appears inactive on all known social spaces then:
  • Those absent Knight(s) will try to be reached via at least 3 methods: forum PM, email, gaming platform choice, Slack, Facebook, Twitter, text, or phone call.  In whatever order the Membership Council (MC) believes will connect with said Knight the best.
  • The Knight will have 7 days to respond to any of the messages. The MC will explain that we believe the Knight to have been absent for “x” amount of time and talk to the Knight and see if we can help them if they need it. All that is required to stay on as a Knight is to simply explain why you’ve been gone and when you believe that you can come back. All we are looking for is some type of communication from the Knight. Basically if we get that the process stops.
  • If after 7 days we still have had no communication from the Knight(s) then they are made Emeritus automatically.
  • It is also possible that if we do make contact with said Knight that a conversation between the Knight and the MC could result in the the Knight realizing that they should be Emeritus due to their activity.
- The Emeritus path is one that we hope isn't chosen by any Knight, but we understand when the time comes. This path is reserved for any Knight who chooses to pursue it - be it from inactivity, video game retirement, internet retirement, real life issues which prevent you from being part of SSG, or even inter clan issues. Keep in mind should you choose this path, you will no longer be a full SSG Knight. You will be an Emeritus (Retired) Knight.  You are welcome to come back in the future, and we greatly encourage you to come back! We hope you can find your true path and that it leads back to us.

Caveat - If you choose to come back, since you are no longer a full SSG Knight, then keep in mind you must go through a trial period before gaining your full status once again. Since you left with specific reasons, we want to make sure those issues have been resolved. We will have a 2 week probation period where we will assess the previous situation(s) and make sure it has been resolved so you can be part of SSG without feeling like an outcast. After the 2 weeks, the Membership Council will cast a vote to have you re-inducted. We want you to come back and feel welcome once again, so understand why we have the probation period.

Banned Status

- This is reserved for the unruliest of Knights. Those that were somehow able to get into the Castle, but decided to try to destroy from within and/or decided not to follow the Code of Chivalry. SSG is a place with high standards of honor, respect, and Good Games, and as such, any Knight who does not follow the Code of Chivalry within SSG, Xbox LIVE, Playstation Network, or other gaming lobbies will be banned.

Caveat - If such an egregious act happens, you will be placed on a 2 week probation where all parties will be heard from and after the 2 weeks is up the MC will vote on your status.  There will be no second chances.

Edit: SSG Jayman 07-06-16 updated Emeritus policy

Camelot Erudition (Info) / Recruitment Policy
« Last post by jayman on 17 May 2011, 10:59 PM »
There are two different paths you can take with your membership here in Camelot.

Path to Knighthood
  • Apprentice - This is the first step obtainable after signing up for admission into SSG. Apprenticeship grants you access to additional forums, the status of being part of SSG, and is where you will begin your admission process in becoming a Knight.
  • Knight - A person designated a Knight of SSG and is a full member of our community. They have access to all the forums, they submit Apprentices to become Knights, have the possibility to hold administrative positions inside of SSG, and hold themselves to the Code of Chivalry.

Path to Community Friend - The alternative to pursuing Knighthood is obtaining the status of Community Friend.  These are people who either belong to another gaming community or at least have the trust and friendship of some of our Knights.  Community Friends have the same privileges as our own Apprentices.  To become a Community Friend you simply need to have a Knight vouch for you.

The process of becoming a Knight has two steps.  First, you must become an Apprentice.

The Path To Apprenticeship:
  • You must be 20 years of age or older.  This is an adult community. Falsification of age would not be a wise decision, perjury in any respect is grounds for expulsion.
  • You must clearly and unequivocally state in your profile thread post that your intention is to seek Knighthood in Sword and Shield Gaming. Anything less will result in the assumption you seek only to be a Community Friend.
  • The first is a consistent presence on the forums. You will want to make a profile thread and state your intent as wanting to be an Apprentice. Keeping active on the forums is a good way to be involved in our community and a great way for members to get to know you.
  • The second, equally important step, is your presence in gaming. You need to play games with members of SSG as much as possible to help us get to know you and your play style. You can send a friend request to members of SSG. Feel free to send game invites or messages to Knights to see if they have room for you in their party or invite them to your party. For other platforms: check around the forums, set up a Pre-Game Lobby, or ask around. There's plenty of gaming to go around.
  • You must have a minimum presence of three weeks+ in the forums and on XBL before apprenticeship will be considered.
  • To be granted Apprenticeship, you must be sponsored by eight Knights who all agree you meet and follow our Code Of Chivalry. This means you will need to have a stable forum presence and play games with our Knights so everyone can get to know you. Only after they have played enough games with you will they feel comfortable sponsoring you as an Apprentice.

To Knights: Sponsorship is more than just saying 'good game'.  It means you feel this person would make a good addition to our community.

Once an Apprentice, you gain additional access to the community and must continue to prove yourself in order to be inducted as a Knight.

The Path To Knighthood:
  • You must have a minimum presence of eight weeks+ in the forums and on XBL before Induction will be considered.
  • Once the community has determined that you've met all the requirements, they will vote and decide whether or not you will be inducted as a Knight.
  • The entry requirements into Knighthood are fluid, as such, there is no set time frame or method to determine when one might gain status.

During SSG's vetting process, yourself or SSG might determine that SSG is just not the right fit for you at this time. After you have met the minimum requirements the Membership Council will vote on your membership. There are three possible outcomes at this point:

A) You are granted Knighthood and accepted into SSG.
B) You are given Community Friend status which is a lateral move from Apprentice. You can reapply for Knighthood again after 90 days if you wish.
C) You are kicked into the moat. This is reserved for the recruits that have not honored SSG and have acted unbecoming of a member of this community.

If you have any questions regarding this process, feel free to contact our Recruitment Templar: Siaberwocki.

And of course, make sure to introduce yourself here:

Camelot Erudition (Info) / Spoilers, Leaked, & Illegal Content
« Last post by jayman on 11 Feb 2011, 04:51 PM »

As a clan and gaming community we hold ourselves to a higher standard, and as such we do not deal in trade secrets. We respect the gaming companies that bring us these amazing game, and there is a method to their madness.

Stating such, this means that Camelot is not the place for the following (but not limited to):

Pictures - This includes screen grabs, magazine photos, unreleased press documents, or the ever popular 'Mr. Blurry Cam' photos.

Video - This includes any type of unreleased material on video, even if it's your own. No links to YouTube or any other video sites.

Documents/Text - This is any text that outlines said leaked content. Whether it be from a print publication or word of mouth.

Leaked content will not be discussed, shared, or linked to from within Camelot. We are not saying that you, as an individual, can't look at the content, it just won't be done here.

Spoilers however, are permitted.  You must be considerate of your fellow gamer though and clearly state that spoilers lie ahead.  You can even use the "Spoiler Tag" (The blue SP just below the change color drop-down box) to hide a spoiler so one must 'roll over' to see the text.

Example:
This is a spoiler.
Simply created by typing this:
Code: [Select]
This is a spoiler.
Illegal content, of any kind, (music, movies, tv, games, etc) will not be accepted either.  Please do not link, post, trade or discuss, that type of content here.

"Punishment" will be decided on a case by case basis. If you have any question about the material that you are about to post and/or discuss it's a safe bet you shouldn't. If you still would like to share it, you can always PM an Overlord to see if it is safe.

Edit: 08/05/13 Info Added.
